1. Bring Your Original California Instruction Permit or Driver's License

Students must present their original California Instruction Permit at the first lesson so the instructor can sign it to activate the permit phase. After the initial signature, photographs, photocopies, or digital images are acceptable. If the required document is not available, the lesson may be canceled and a cancellation fee of up to $75 may be charged.

2. No-Show Policy

Students who fail to appear for a scheduled lesson without prior notice may be charged a no-show fee equal to the full cost of the scheduled lesson to help cover instructor time, vehicle expenses, and scheduling costs.

3. Corrective Lenses

If your permit or driver's license requires corrective lenses, you must wear your glasses or contact lenses during every driving lesson.

4. Cancellation Policy

Driving lessons canceled with less than twenty-four (24) hours' notice on a business day may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to $75.

5. Outstanding Fees

Any cancellation, no-show, or administrative fees must be paid before additional driving lessons can be scheduled.

6. Lesson Expiration

Prepaid driving lessons should be completed within one (1) calendar year from the date of purchase unless otherwise approved by Danville Driving School.

7. Electronic Devices

For everyone's safety, cell phones, texting, headphones, smart watches, and other electronic devices may not be used during driving instruction. If a student must take an urgent call, the instructor will safely pull over before the call is answered.

8. Scheduling Requirements

Students must possess a valid California Instruction Permit or Driver's License before any behind-the-wheel instruction can be scheduled.

9. Driver Education & Behind-the-Wheel Completion

Completion of Driver Education, Behind-the-Wheel Training, or issuance of a Driver Education Certificate (DL 400C) or Behind-the-Wheel Training Completion documentation does not guarantee that the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will issue a driver's license or that the student will pass any DMV examination. Students must satisfy all California DMV licensing requirements.

10. Weather Policy

Behind-the-wheel instruction is conducted rain or shine. In the interest of student safety, the instructor or Danville Driving School may cancel and reschedule a lesson if weather or road conditions are considered unsafe.

11. Parent Practice Requirements

California law requires drivers under eighteen (18) years of age to complete at least fifty (50) hours of supervised driving practice, including ten (10) hours at night, before taking the DMV driving test. Danville Driving School recommends approximately 8–10 hours of supervised practice between professional lessons to reinforce newly learned skills. Safe driver development is a partnership between the student, parent, and professional instructor, with instruction progressing from fundamental skills to increasingly complex driving situations.

12. Refund Policy

Students who withdraw before their first scheduled driving lesson may receive a refund, less an administrative processing fee of up to $50, if applicable.
